Les, a long-time friend

I first met Les in 1971 while he was in Scotland from Canada with his wife Susan.  Les was best man at my wedding to Ian Whitehead in 1972.  Thereafter, Les and Susan became firm friends, visiting them in Canada, Chester and Rijswijk over the years.  These were happy times and I fondly remember Les' droll sense of humour and great hospitality.

Losing his wife so young and so suddenly was a great blow to Les.  He continued to work until retirement, but it was sad to learn of his deteriorating health in recent years.  Graham, you and your family were wonderful in looking after him at home during that time.

To you, his son Graham and daughter Karen, I send my condolences with love and best wishes for your future lives.

Our sincere condolences to all the family.

Barry and I spent a number of years working with Les on the Elgin Franklin Project , and always found him to be sincere in his ways, and approach to the people who worked with him. Time passes but you always remember a good colleague!

Good memories!

Condolences to the Knight Family

Dear Graham, Karen and family

I was deeply saddened to hear about Les passing.

He was a fabulous boss, mentor and friend over many years.

We have many fond memories both work and social, with both Les and Susan.

We shall include them in our family toast ''to absent friends''.

Wishing you and the family all the best

Fond Memories

Dear Graham. Karen and families. We have never met you, but we became friends with Les and Sue way back in 1970 when we all lived in Toronto. We enjoyed being with them and had some very competitive times between Les and David as fellow Scots. Who could swim fastest or who was a better skater etc!! Turns out that neither of us were any good! But we did have a lot of fun times before or careers took us on different paths. We have kept in touch each Christmas for over 45 years. It was a shock to get your card today in the mail and our condolences to you all. We have fond memories and hope that your own memories will comfort you in this sad time.
